Innovation spaces like Areas of Innovation (AOIs), Innovation Districts (IDs) and Science and Technology Parks (STPs) are vital for high-quality economic growth. Supported mainly by community universities which are non-profit institutions reinvesting profits into education, research and community ties these entities foster social well-being and development. By offering diverse services and engaging beyond education they promote innovation and local progress. This paper reviews Brazilian innovation spaces emphasizing their roles in biotechnology health and education. It explores challenges such as financial sustainability and digital adaptation while identifying opportunities in partnerships infrastructure and talent retention. Effective communication is essential for highlighting their contributions to regional growth. Drawing on successful practices from established community universities it offers actionable recommendations to enhance their impact encouraging a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship that builds social and economic resilience.
